you got to be kidding me

Its getting cold up here in Minnesota and guess what. My 93 400SEL has no heat. Is the usual suspect this notorious "monovalve" and are they serious that this one, which as far as I can tell is a double valve is really gonna cost me $800? Im starting to really regret buying this thing....
