A/C clutch won't ingage.
Which one is the low pres switch? I jumped them both and the clutch did not engage.

The red one with the pigtail leads is the temperature switch. The pressure switch has the 1/4" spade connectors jutting out of it.
Check that you are getting power to the switch. If so, check at the clutch. |

The red one is the high pressure switch, but that won't engage the clutch, that's for low aux fan speed. The other one is the low pressure switch for the compressor.

Legally obtaining R12 is a quite simple and relatively inexpensive process for anyone with an IQ over 70.
There are any number of websites where you can go and take an open book test in a matter of an hour or two and obtain an EPA 609 license. You can then legally buy all the R12 you can afford. Try IMACA.ORG Theirs used to cost only $15. |
