motor mounts bad out of box?

I installed motor mounts on my 420sel a few months ago. They were Febi brand made in china. The fan hits the shroud a little when cold still and occasianally when I hit a bump. Could there be multiple reasons for this or would motor mounts be the culprit? I have changed all other mounts like trannie, and diff.

If you see "China" on a product like that.................RUN

USE on "OE" quality rubber products.

So I would definitley consider those the culprit? I cant think of any reason for the fan to hit the shroud other than motor mounts

as was said, when you fitted the new mounts, the engine moved up in bay and as such top of fan came much closer to top of shroud.the shroud is adjustable if you take off a clip and look at it you will see how.

When you put new mounts , you don't lower the shroud , you raise it................just look and center it ..top/bottom

The fact that the shroud has to be lowered to make it work with the new mounts is not a good sign. I'd put in proper German made mounts.

when I put new mounts, there was no shroud. the fan had chewed it up and kept knocking the clips off. I waited until a week after the new mounts to mount a new shroud. I had it centered, but it would hit the shroud when I started the car. So I talked to my mechanic and he said to lower the shroud as low as I could and It worked. For a while. Now every morning it hits the shroud ever so slightly for a min or so until it gets warm. Im going to take a look after work toaday and see if I cant make a difference.
