Saying good-bye to my 124.
My 1989 300te has 270,000 miles on it. The interior is starting to smell like anti freeze, the cam has one damaged lobe and ticks, ticks, ticks, front seal is leaking. The rear quarter panel needs it's paint refreshed (I guess the previous owner had it painted, poorly, and now the clear has failed).
I have already in the past four years put in: fnt shocks, rear accumulators, water pump, hatch shocks, radiator, heater blower fan. I think it's time to say good-bye to an old friend. I just don't see where / how I can justify putting thousands into my old 300te. Maybe my money is best served in a newer model 210. Hmmmmm....

How about Ebay
I sold a tired 1977 240D on Ebay a couple of years ago....I didn't get much, but I hated to see it go to the bone yard.
There were still many good parts...it may still be running. You really can't complain about a car that went 270,000 miles. Best regards, The Tenor Man

i am letting my 260e go with 225k. it is running great but needs tires, ball joints and the a/c is not working
i am pulling parts since we have three other 124's

1989 300ce 129k ( facelifted front,updated tail lights, lowered suspension,bilstein sports, lorinser front spoiler, MOMO steering wheel, remus exhaust,stainless steel brake lines). (Gone) 1997 s320 154k (what a ride). Sold with 179k miles. Replaced with Hyundai Equus 1994 e320 Cabriolet 108k  1972 280se 4.5 153k Owned for 12 yrs, sorry I sold it [/SIGPIC]

Recently sold both of our 124's,, a 93 400E, and a 95 E320 TE. Had both those cars a long time and really enjoyed the time with them. We acquired 2, 210 models at fairly reasonable prices and I really like the 210's, and can't see ever going back.
