1995 C280 sluggish

Our 1995 C280 had a water pump and a transmission cable replaced yesterday at an independent Mercedes shop. It drove fine on the way home (30 mi, mostly hiway), and this morning to work (5 mi, mostly stop and go traffic). At noon we ran some errands and it would not easily come up to speed (acceleration delay similar to a 126 300sd), but once at 30 mph or so seemed to behave normally. Very light accelerator pedal pressure behaved normally, but any attempt at quick acceleration produced sluggish performance under 30 mph. Any thoughts?

We're going to see if it's drive-able back to the shop in the morning.

I don't know anything about that car, but since they worked on the transmission, maybe it is the downshift linkage (assuming it has one!). So it would be hanging in a higher gear makiing it feel sluggish. Just a guess.

POssibly they disconnected the battery & that erased the fuel computer adaptions.

Re-learning can take 25-50 miles of normal driving.
