Engine runs cold?
Hi All,
The Car: 1998 C200 Manual The symptoms: - Last night when driving home the engine temp guage did not rise. This was highway driving at 120kmh for +- 20kms. - When I arrived home I listened outside the car and heard the fan running at full blast - I switched off and restarted the car and the fan stopped running and the temp guage rose to just below the first line immediately. - This morning on the way to work the temp seemed better. Above first line but always below 80c Ant ideas on how to find out whats wrong? Thanks, Jason |

Sounds like a temp sensor issue.

Thanks MBDoc. How could I test to see that it is that?
Could that affect how the car runs? I mean, does anything else use the reading from the temperature sensor? The car generally lacks power but is ok sometimes. Exhaust always smells like the car is running rich. Very distinctive smell. |
