1992 S420 diplomat

Hi, looking at a S420 Diplomat, is this car considered a collectable?
I can get it for under 2k.

The car has 140k miles, said to be in good shape, drives but needs a fuel pump.

my main question is what will this car sell for in good condition? I would probably keep the car but id like to know if its worth it / I can sell it if I need the money later etc.

any suggestions greatly appreciated.

A diplomat 420 sounds like a S600 Gaurd which a S600 with bullet proof glass, armor, fire proof, run flat tires and I hear missle proof. So I would like to think a S420 diplomat is very similar in terms of s600 gaurd in terms of protection for high profile person who owns it. Not many made since they special made to the person.

Definitely a post-facelift car (1995+).

If the seller was reluctant to provide the VIN I would proceed very carefully. Also I don't believe the S-Guard was offered in the 420 variant. The 4.2l engine probably wouldn't have enough grunt to haul all that armor around. My guess is that the seller has mistaken the double glazed windows for bullet proof windows. It happens all the time.
