Tach/idoit lights work, but thats it.

tach and idiot lights work, all other gauges (even speedo) do not work.

I read posts and searched, ground behind the dash looks good.
Upper left if your looking at the rear of the instrument panel has a 2 terminal plug that looks cobbled grn/yel and blk/purple (2)?, not sure if thats correct.

PO "someitmes when it hit a bump it all works again" not sure tho. fuses good, Im lost!!!! this is going to be my daily driver as of next week, help is VERY appriciated!!!!

Thanks so much!!

87 300SDL,
I think I accidently double posted this question, sorry for the redundancy.

It is still unresolved at this time, new fuses, everything else works except illumination for guages and console (rheostat is good)

Lamps are good and visually the only problem appears to be a butchered white 2 terminal plug on the upper left of cluster (from rear view of cluster)

I tried for hours to figure this out, I can live without a lot of things but oil psi and temp didnt make that list. I would love to find a schematic or a pin map to varify nobody botched up the wires within the round plug. Any suggestions for a makeshift ground, I'll try anything. The nearest MB dealer is Denver CO or I would bring it in just out of frustration.

TIA for any help.

bump

I really need a wiring diagram for instrumentation and/or that round plug on the rear of the cluster. 87 300SDL

Does anyone have anything? a link?
The frustration is overwhelming at this point. Which repair manual has good vacuum/wiring diagrams? I'll order another one if I must, I visited my local parts houses and the most exotic vehicle I could find books for are chevy trucks haha.

what I ordered was not what I thought it was and contains no wiring diagrams.

Please help if possible. Thanks.

Send me an e-mail & I will send you that info.

The MBUSA CD has all of those diagrams...don't think they run on VISTA though.

Was wondering if you had the instrument cluster plug info for a 1978 MB 240d as well. Thanks for any help.
