plug wire channel

Ok, I have done many a tough job on my 300sel as well as others...but I am at my wits end on the plastic encasement part that houses the wires in some manner of neatness. Is there a trick to getting them all in, flat and the tabs snapped down, without cracking the plastic?? There must be some order, trick to it!!

Thanks
Warren
