I need to replace my drivers side exhaust seal ring, I was getting a leak at the joint between the muffler and the rear cat and the original ring was badly pitted. I received my new seal ring today from Fastlane and my question is do I need to apply any sealant to the new seal ring or does it go in dry?

Install dry, use a wire brush to remove scale and rust from the exhaust pipe flanges. if there is severe pitting,them a high temp RTV silicone designed for exhaust use may be used.

Thanks for the info. Fortunately the exhaust pipe flanges are in good shape, only the seal ring was badly pitted.
