s/w switch on shifter problem
00 E430. Spilled a lil soda in the shifter and the whole nine yards.
will try to open / clean and replace if needed. (does anyone have a working shifter unit to sell ?) anyhow, the question is, I was taking the top of the shifter apart and the s/w switch came out just with a little bit of wiggle and the circuit board in the bottom is now showing. my question is, is that how the s/w switch is supposed to come off simply by prying off or is it broken now that i took it off from the top ? thanks...

That switch is part of the shifter.
And the shifter in that car is a computer. Computers & liquids do not get along
