Need Torque Numbers: Front Struts

Need Torque Numbers: Front Struts
As part of my major car repair (head gasket), i am changing front struts and strut mounts since i have the car on stands already...

what are the torque values for the front strut-to-knuckle bolts? the factory CD is confusing on this a bit as it states that the m12 bolts should be at 110 NM, whereas the m14 bolt should be at 200NM...the confusing part is that these in reality are 19mm bolts so i am not sure what the m12, and m14 numbers refer to?

thanks,

I think you wandered into the wrong forum, since you don't state what car you have, and most Mercedes don't have struts. You might try www.toyotanation.com.

without having 'actual information' I would say that wherever you bought these shock absorbers from could tell you that...it's actually probably on the installation pamphlet, although I could see that it might say 'See Your Models Owner Manual' for detail... and yeah...Mercedes (at least mine) has what they call a 'Modified McPhearson Strut'. The strut (shock) is mounted to bay/fender directly, ala conventional strut but the spring is external to the strut..it's a strut without a spring....
