Question What to change with Timing Cover Seal

My '88 300E has about 128K miles and it has the typical leak where the timing cover meets the cylinder block. Since I am going in to replace the seal, what else should I consider replacing while I have it apart? I am thinking of replacing the timing chain and wondered about the gears. Any help would be appreciated.
