w124 window mystery solved
In case this happens to anyone else, here is what I found out about my w124 window problem. - the problem was, the relays were clicking but nothing was moving. all motors were good and all wires were good.
I traced the problem to the fuse box. I had tried rolling the fuses, and got nothing. So, I took the cover off the fuse box, and looked under the fuse block. Underneath, I noticed a red and yellow wire that plugs into a single pin connector underneath, between F and G. Several circuits are fed by this wire, and I noticed that both window banks had plug type connectors instead of screws. I took these off, cleaned them, and now suddenly everything works perfectly. For me the lesson seems to be that not only to those fuses get a bit of oxidation, but the pin-connections can suffer from this also. I hope this is helpful to someone who's trying to troubleshoot this stuff. Does anyone know what the two red fuses inside the relay compartment are for?

The red fuses are likely for the aux fans.....I'm pretty sure.
