Cannot get tension on the serpentine belt!!

I was changing my belt today while changing the fan bearing bracket.....I put everything back together, and started rotating the rod for the belt tensioner (counter clockwise) to tighten while the main bolt was loosened... the belt remained loose, and eventually the rod snapped...got a new rod, reinstalled everything, but still cannot get tension on the belt...i am confused !!!

someone have insight on this?

thanks,

Never mind, I am an idiot.....spent 4 hours changing belts.....removing tensioning device and reinstalling it to replace broken rod (which i broke needlessly)...

i just came back from looking at this, and the belt running pattern is wrong! doh!!!!

put it back correctly, and everything is back to normal....what a waste!
