88 300sel "no brake lights"

hello
this is a weird problem, i have no power to the brake switch under the dash. all bulbs, fuse's good. all other lights work. exterior light out bulb on dash does not come on, but works on ignition switch. cruise works but will not dis engage with brake pedal. i have removed the lighting control module, didnt see anything obvious.

question, does power come to the brake switch before it goes to the light control module? where does it come from? fuse #6 is good. thanks mark
