c36 Cabriolet?

I was considering taking a c36 and transplanting the drive train into an e320 Cabriolet? Is this a foolish endeavor or should it be a matter of striping and swapping? Just an idea not an obsession, any advice?

With enough time and money . . . The M104 swap should be "do-able" since it's been done in cars like the W201.
