Accessory Belt Tensioner bolt question
Does anyone know the size of the proper bolt/washers/nut for the top of the belt tensioner shock where it fixes to the bracket on the front/top section of my 1991 300te engine?
The current bolt is not proper length and is a wee bit too short, so as it does not thread all the way through the securing nut. Thanks, J. |

That probably means that the tensioner has failed and needs to rotate too far to create tension. BTDT.

I replaced the tensioner and noticed that the proper hardware was
not on my car, currently I have a bit of a makeshift setup going. The bolt I have in place only threads in halfway to the rear nut. I am trying to get my hands on the proper setup. |

Why not just take the bolt to a bolt/screw shop and get a longer one?

Okay, I understand now. I thought that you were talking about the adjusting nut.

Answer = M8 x 30, and the corresponding M8 nut. It wasn't quite as easy as just driving up to the hardware shop b/c the car was in a state of repair. It is a-ok now with the proper bits. If you haven't already, feel free to disregard this thread.
