Outside Temperature Sensor Replacement
I had dead and whacky acting pixels on my 1996 E320 temperature display in the instrument cluster. After thinking it was the LCD display ... and taking the cluster apart and putting it all back together ... I thought it just might be the temp probe .. I whacked it and the display changed ... then I heated it with a blow dryer ... and it reset at a fixed 79 degrees .. went blank, then reset at 79 degrees ... so ... I think its the temp sensor and not the LCD display.
So ... I can order a new sensor from peachparts .. for $79. But, it comes with a 10 foot cable and connector ... and I can't for the life of me figure out where it goes and what it connects to ... can someone send me a pic or pdf of a manual or some dick-and-jane enlightment so I can replace the thing .. its driving me batty. Thanks |

Sorry, I don't have a manual for the W210. Maybe you could just follow the old cable back from the sensor to see where it runs to. On 124s, the cable goes to a connector at the main fuse box (X67, IIRC).

That's the problem ... I can't very easily see where the heck it goes ... and there is lots of cable on the new part from what I can tell .. I don't want to order it unless I have some clear idea I can install it myself ... still need some detailed assistance/guidance ...
