1995 c280 problems

I have a big problem with my 1995 c280. You see when I turn on the car there are two possibilities that can happen A) the CEL comes on and the spedometer works (occasionally misfires) or B)the ABS sign comes on (no CEL) and the spedometer will not work (still ocassionally misfires). A few days ago I rushed over to autozone and got the code pulled out and it was a P1701 something about a transmission sensor.
Something you should know is that I have already gotten the sparkplugs, sparkplug wires and a vaccum leak changed/fixed; I have also changed the MAF sensor(used). My dilemna is that i love this car and i need it very much to commute to college(mostly highway use). Please if it possible help me

The engine code losted has no bearing on your problem.

You need to have codes from the traction system & the engine computer read with a MB scanner NOT ODB2 scanner.
