1995 e320 coupe heat problem

I live in Sask Canada where the weather has been super cold as of late (-40C). My previous 1990 300ce ran like a top, started great even on the coldest days, and kicked out some good heat. With this 1995 E320, I get some decent heat out of the blower when I use the low setting on the fan, but when I turn it up to auto the fan kicks in good, but after about a minute the air out the side vents is cool. It seems like it can't recover with the fan on high. The temp gage is reads dead on at 80. Help please - I need some heat!

Thanks for your help.
