300E Brake Squeal

I was told a brake squeal is common.. but don't see how anyone can live with it. Mine only happens when I am breaking at slow speeds, i.e. approaching a stop sign. but it is annoying to say the least.. is there any remedy for this? Just had the front pads replaced in September with MB OEM pads.
Thx
Gary

Sometimes when you wash the wheels specially with those wheel cleaners, the grease applied to the pad backing gets washed away. Since your brake job was recent you should have whoever did it check what's going on.

Usually this type of squeal comes and goes. It's not hurting anything as long as your brakes aren't metal to metal.

The best thing to do is not to worry about it and turn up the radio volume.

Have a great day,

Try a few very hard brakes. Speed up to 40 - 50 mph and brake as hard as you can. Do it on a straight road with no traffic.

Also there is a special MB brake greese one is supposed to use when putting on new pads. Very inexpensive but if not used, the brakes make noise.

Also a failing/dirty ABS sensor or a loose rotor (allen screw loose) can cause squeeking.
