Engine cuts out
Hello all
I have a 1985 280CE Euro (66K), the car runs good, Had a used 110 installed about 2 years ago, but have not used the car very much. About three months ago I started using it regularly. I have put about 2500 miles on it since with no problems. This morning while on the highway, doing about 60 mph, the engine shut off. This lasted about 1 - 2 seconds, and the engine came back on. This happened 3 times with the same outcome. The lights stayed on, the only thing I noticed was the tach went to zero. Each time the engine came back on after a couple of seconds. I am thinking electrical short, but where should I look. Thanks Jack |

yes it seems like a electrical/ignition problem but you might be surprised that the fuel pump relay was erratic. remove and clean the all pins best to resolder the or replace relay.

Ordered a new relay from Phil, after talking to Roy. Both were great.
Hope this solves the problem jack |

Will let you know as soon as soon as I receive it. It is coming from Germany (BIG $$$$$). Roy said there are only 100 available in Germany, and when supply is exhausted, thats it. I have continued to use the car with no problem, so I assume it is an intermitent problem, but better to be safe than sorry.
Thanks jack |
