			Anybody know exactly "what" it does? I noticed mine is cracked on my 260E. Thanks

			At some predetermined temperature, determined by the color, it opens and 'passes' vacuum.  
		
		
		
			
		
		
		
		
		
			If yours is cracked, replace it with a new one of the same color.
