VSS Help
1993 300TE 4MATIC
I need the VSS/pulse wire to install a taxi meter. I own several W124 300Ds, & the pulse wire is green/yellow stripe going into the cruise control module under the dash. On this vehicle (my first gasser) that wire is not throwing pulses. I have installed many taxi meters, never encountered this problem. Instead of pulsing, it shows a steady 14.16 volts w/ ignition on. Questions: - Is the pulse wire gn/y like the other W124s? - Doesn't this wire run directly to the induction sensor on the transmission? - There are only four wires coming off the tranny where they plug into the NSS. Isn't one of these the VSS wire? Final point: 4Matic dash light & slip alert light steady on the dash. Put 4Matic in "test mode" until we could have time look at it. Don't know if this is relevant but it shouldn't matter bec tranny should still throw pulses to the cruise module even when locked in rwd. This gas job is new territory to me, I've been driving sparkless for 20 years. Any and all guidance would be appreciated. Josh Ace Taxi
