1994 E320 M104 ETA Part Number
How can I tell the production date from a given part number?
For instance an ETA: My ETA part number is as follows (two lines separated by an bar code): 000 141 57 25 DK0016 VDO 408 226/4/1 94M04 (03) I am guessing the year is "94" (in front of M04) and made by VDO? Does it also explain whether or not my car is ASR (I know mine is not, but how to confirm when purchasing a replacement)? Can someone confirm this and explain how to read part numbers? The other one I am interested in is the wire harness. Jim |

MB part number is 000-141-57-25...designed for a NON-ASR system.

You are correct on the date...94M04 after the VDO number, means made in 1994.
No way to get engine number from that info.

Thank you. I am looking for used/salvaged parts online and if I know how to decipher part numbers, then I can ask the seller before buying.
