clk500 w/ 55kmi has sludge deposit - what to do, if anything?

Just got the car. What should I do? Simply replace the oil with Mobil 1 synthetic every 5000 miles or so, or should I first use some engine flush (which one?) and replace oil every 5kmi?

Is there another synthetic oil that is more detergent?

Yes, more frequent oil changes will HELP.

Also before changing oil add special cleaning agent to oil run engine for specified time (ie: 30 minutes at idle) & then change the oil.

I've used Auto RX before, it seemed to work well at removing old gook deposits.

Yes, Auto RX would be my choice. My '93 300CE hadn't had the oil filter changed in 50K. It was a solid black piece of sludge. The removal of the valve covers showed a horrible sight. After 10K and two Auto RX doses, it is as clean as a whistle, and runs a lot quieter.

Drop your change interval to 2K and add detergent right before fill..

After 4-5 changes should look much improved.
