W220 2006 S430 V8 Trouble code info
A friend is looking at the above vehicle 38k mi. for poss. purchase and has the service history incl. 3 DAS down loads. After going through the huge ammount of stored DTCs I must say that I am alarmed. I have been a electrical/driveability tech for an Ameican dealer for 35 years and have never seen so many codes for most of the systems in the vehicle. I have talked to a indie shop and was told to ignore.... There is one download with 29 stored codes and several CAN codes. The downloads were captured while in for 2 trans concerns and ESP, Pre-Safe, TPMS & ABS lamp concerns. Is this a normal condition or the sign of trouble?

Sounds like the car had/has a bad battery, or was jump started several times.
Newer MB's hate both of those possibilities!

S430
With 3 different DAS d-loads,(13k 16k & 28k) all d-loads are very much alike. Is it common to see stored codes like these without the battery concerns?
Thanks for you time. |
