89 300ce sagging drivers door/scraping locking mechanism

hi are the door hinges adjustable?my drivers door is hanging about 1/4"lower on the right door lock side, causing the door lock retainer to slide on the door lock assembly, the body lines are way off, does anyone know if i can loosen up the door hinge bolts, lift up on the door, then retighten the bolts?thanks everyone.

I believe there is adjustment plate if you loosen the hinge bolts but it may not help if the door is sagging. A reputable body shop said they muscle it up from the far end of the door to correct sags. You may use a 2 x 4 as leverage at the bottom corner. Obviously if the hinge or pin is worn this technique won't work.

Loosening the hinge bolts will allow you to realign the door. Best to use some reference marks to assist in the realignment.

It's possible that you will need to readjust the door glass also. That requires removing the door liner to make adjustments ... a painstaking job. Once you realign the door, close it with the window partially down, then raise the glass slowly to check the glass fit with the seals. Adjust the glass, if required.
