400E Brake Rotors/Pads
I need to get new Rotors and Pads for my 1993 400E preferably Cross-drilled and slotted. Does anyone have a reccomendation? I found some pretty good deals on Ebay, but I am unsure of the brand and quality...

Don't go with offbrand. I did it with my 300TE and it was a huge mistake....They squeak and squeak and squeak. I've applied countless pastes with no luck.
Stick with OEM brands. ATE make a great looking one here on fastlane that have great reviews. (I did all my searching for my 400E brake upgrade and ended up chosing Balo. Great quality!)

What do you think of the Zimmerman Sport?

I've heard they are good. Too blingy for me though.

Cross-drilled/slotted rotors won't really do much in terms of performance, unless you go "full-circle" on the entire brake system, and you are REALLY hard on brakes (like rally/autocross weekend racing). Otherwise, it's mostly for show.
I will add that if the cross-drilled holes are not chamferred/countersunk, then the rotors will run the risk of cracking over time. Choose wisely, there's a lot of crap on eBay...

The Zimmermans seem like pretty good quality rotors. I don't want to ever risk having warped rotors from high speed braking so I am going to go with cross drilled. What pads would you reccomend with those?

Crossdrilled=way overrated. You're reducing surface area when you go with a rotor that has a bunch of little holes in it. Best thing you could do for yourself is go with the OE rotors & pads and be done with it. Oh yeah they stop better too.

Which OE rotors would you reccomend? I see that they have brembo for about the same price as the others on Fastlane.

I should also add that I am tired of cleaning black brake dust off my front wheels every other day, But my pads and rotors are in very bad condition so I don't expect this from newer ones.

Be aware for the most part, less dust = less stopping power. It's a trade off.

Benz OE rotors or Zimmerman rotors.. don't skimp !!!... 400's are well equipped as far as brakes...I've not experienced better performance from drilled rotors vs. good OE gear....

There is a reason lots of a 6-cylinder 124 owners upgrade to the 400 setup on their cars. Bigger brakes to begin with, vented front rotors and plenty of stopping power. And hey, they're cheaper too. Anybody who can't handle OE (performance) brake dust shouldn't own a German car. That's why they make p21s.
My friend put lo-dust pads on the rear of his Bimmer, and he is already complaining about less stopping power. Do the math. Benz engineers and a lot of things, but stupid and haphazard they aren't. Save your money for the unexpected $1200 repairs every 6-12 months - you'll be glad you did!
