2x W124 4Matic transfer cases for only $63 each.
You read right! As of today, 3/9/10, there are two 4Matic transfer cases available for $63.00 each at the Crazy Rays 2801 Hawkins Point Rd., Baltimore, Maryland location. All you have to do is yank them out.
I seriously considered pulling them myself, but I already have 4 spares sitting on my garage floor. I just could not justify yanking two more when there was many other things out there to pick. Also, my wife just would not understand my having 6, anymore than my having 4. Because I'm passing up on these nuggets I want to make sure they go to a forum friend. Crazy Rays charges $63 each for a transfer case - any transfer case. There is no way to know for sure if they are still there other than to go and check. Their operation moves cars quite frequently, but I suspect these two have at least a week or two left out in the yard. The first one is in a gold 1992 300E sedan with approximately 253K. There is no body damage, meaning it could have been junked because of mechanical failure. I pull the right ball joint last week and noted both front axles had torn boots, an indication of poor maintenance. I crawled under it today and took a peek at the underside. Everything, other than the axle boots was clean and free of oil drips. The second one is in a black 1991 300TE wagon with 199K. Again there is no body damage. The front axle boots appeared intact. This wagon was not present last week, meaning it may remain longer. I bought the "4Matic" badges from both vehicles. The cats have been cut out just like in the first picture. I hope someone from this forum will benefit from these; I know I've already taken my fair share. I suggest that if you do intend to make a run on one of them you let the other here know so they will not make a wasted trip. Here are some pictures from the donors where I got mine, just so you know what you're up against if you want to pull one or both of them. I worked up some instructions on how to quickly pull a transfer case from a pick and pull donor. They are at this link: REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

If I could get all the gear for one of those, I would love to put it in my S320....
