Replacing COMMAND console in W210?
I I recently got a 2003 E320 wagon (a W210). It has this COMMAND console, the only thing I don't like so far; I prefer my iPhone's GPS and mapping, and I don't have to stop listening to music. I'd like to get rid of it and replace it with (for example) a 6-disk changer and more storage space.
Has anyone done this retrofit? Alternately, are there multi-disk systems, or iPod systems, that will fit right into this space?

I'm sure there are lots of people with facelift W210s (only versions applicable) that would love to trade you their single-DIN setup for yours. This would be the dash wood and the internal mountings. The OE radios function with phone same as yours, although obviously less "display." Also the same is connection for 6-disc CD player, which will be in rear right of car. Recall that this is fiber-optic connected, so not just anything works.
Your current system should have an aux input jack in the glovebox to which you can connect your iPod (control remains on iPod only).
