ASR light

What would cause my ASR light to turn on and send my car into limb mode. it is a 93 300E 2.8????? if anyone has any experiences with battling this ASR in A W124 before please share...

The computer that controls the electronic accelerator would have a stored code that would be the key to diagnosis.

Reading that code from pin #14 of the diagnostic connector would be MY 1st step.

Jake,
There are many posts on this problem. Having chased this demon through the maze, I would suggest a brand new ETA. I wish I had of done that instead of pulling it three times to have it repaired.

Yes also check your engine wiring harness as the six cylinders have aged enough for there insulation to fail like the V8's that effect 1993-1995 MB's.

I have attempted that a few times and it will not tell me anything. A my ETA is what. I'm not one for cars newer then 75 so I'm a little behind on a few things.

The throttle actuator on the intake that has wires running to it.
