the weather has been crap down here so getting the tools out hasn't been an option. The ride is certainly not hard in the rear, in fact i feels pretty nice but i am not experienced enough to identify if the susspension behavior is the accumulators doing their job or the springs/tyres. When i grab the roof rack and shake the crap out of the car it certainly seems to behave just as you would expect if it had good old fassioned shock absorbers in there. It certainly didn't give the appearance of "floating" on springs but i am no expert. Is the valve a servicable item in as much as being able to pull it apart and clean it out or a replacement job?

So Ned, how's the car?

I'll be replacing the spheres on my 300TE tomorrow if I'm not rained on too much.

it should. the self-levelling will work whether the accumulators are bad or not.

This is true.

If the car won't level, and there is fluid returning to the tank, the valve is either leaking internally (somewhat common) or the valve is not adjusted properly (not calling for lift).

It's really quite simple fortunately.
