Testie, nobody but NOBODY swaps a normally aspirated 3.0 liter OM606 six cylinder diesel engine into a 190E. It would be stepping backward. OM606s are way heavy, and slow. Furthermore you would basically have to take the entire car apart and rebuild it with OM606 infrastructure. You had better be a wealthy individual, wherever you're from.

Unless you do the work yourself, and I mean ALL of it, 17 year old MBs are just as expensive and more frustrating than new ones. They'll literally nickle and dime you to death, then they'll rip you off some more for good measure. If you're having trouble with your M102 and you aren't the wrenching type I would recommend letting it go.
