Holding Kickdown, at what RPM should the transmisison shift? 96 E320

When pressing and holding the kickdown, at what RPM should the transmission shift to the next gear?
I am now at the point adjusting the bowden cable, and need to know what the right rpm is.

Currently, it shift from 2-3 at 5000rpm, and 1/2 second later already to the next gear...??? Thats sure not right.

Currently, it shift like this:

2..........3.4

I just need to know if the bowden cable adjustment can cause this strange behavior.
As I posted in another thread, we do not have Mercedes service here, nor do we have mechanics who know Mercedes, so I am very much dependent on information I can get here and try my luck with DIY.
