GREAT! I was afraid you were going down that rough road.

Larry- Yes, I have been down that road before....however, it wasn't so bad because the parts I replaced actually increased my cars performance dratically...ie, replacing the coolant temp switch (aux fans use to kick in at about 115 C, now they come on at about 100 C). Anyways, I wanted to tahnk you all for your input on this thread. The problem was infact the neutral safety switch, a part I had not heard about until today. There was a little black lever that fit into a groove on the side of the transmission and it was out and sticking straight up. So I turned it in order to fit it into the groove and the car started right up. I am concerned that the piece may come loose again as the NSS is attached to the tranny, but the screw that was supposed to be holding it has broken free from whatever it was attached to and with it is a small chunk off the metal, so I'm guessing the only way to get that fixed is either weld it, jb weld it, or replace the part that is broken.

I have same problem!!!! (93' 300e 3.2L)
I have the same problem, I noticed that none of the guys told you that it would still start, but only in neutral when the car is acting up. Every other time I start my car it does it. It also seems to coincide with my cruise quiting every other time that I start it. Seems that if one works the other doesn't. Well hope that might help a lil bit.
