1990 190E window regulator?

Are these models notorious for having the rear window reglator go out? I remember I replaced 2 on my rear passenger door in 13 months ( I know it was 13 months because the MB stealship did not wanna give me a warranty job and it was only 1 year and a week out since they replaced it!) Anyways, I rolled down my rear driver window today and heard a snap! then I thought (oh snap!) and my window could not roll up. I took off the door panel and noticed that the motor would roll up and down, both directions, but there was just extra slack on the cable. How do I take out the regulator? and Do I need to buy a whole new one or can I just see why the extra slack on the cable and fix it?

Yes, they are weak! But never had that frequent issue with them.

There are versions made in China that fail quite quickly,

I have one brand new OE regulator. I will look & see which side if you want to buy it.

Takes a "good" MB tech about 30-45 minutes.
