They all seem to have some kind of latch, but if it had a cover maybe not. It would help to be sure which way it comes off though!

HOLY COW! HALLELUJAH !!!

Hottest day of the year here (It's been COLD so 26C is HOT!!) so good day to get the A/C working!!!

Thanks so much you guys, it's my first time on this forum and I am VERY impressed and grateful for your time and effort.

The Plug (connector) didn't have a cap and had gotten a bit dirty. It has latches on either side that you squeeze into the body to release from the bottom. I couldn't see OR reach the latches so I just prized it off! I figure if I break it it's no big loss - it won't disable the vehicle and it doesn't work as it is. Also you could replace the wires without the plastic case! Not sure how you would protect it from dirt but maybe the old rubber glove trick?

I was able to get it up thru' the other wires there and work on it from on top.

It does separate into a body and a top (cap?) which holds the connectors in. I don't have my digital camera here or I would have taken a pic for everybody. Just have to describe it for those who follow. There are three pins on the compressor and the connector contains three tubes which slide over the pins to make the contact. The wires are soldered into these tubes sideways thru' a hole in the top. Then the tubes slide into the connector and the cap retains them in place. I had to file away some excess solder to get it to fit. The connector then slides over the pin base - Voila! If you get mixed up the red wire goes to Port and the blue (almost green) goes to starboard.

I was able to drill out the old, broken wire, but be very careful and only clamp on the top (solid) part of the tube.

Anyone reading this who needs further description I would be glad to help. email me or post here. I am on the road a lot but I will answer when I can.

Thanks again Peaches!

Now if I could just figure out why my oil pan looks so rusted!! Maybe I'll wire brush it and give it a poke!! Could be another big oil spill here!!
