'85 380 SE Had to install new engine after dropping two cyls but still ran, but with significant smoking at idle, unburnt gas and oil, but cleared with higher rpms. After a time after driving on 6 cyls, the smoking became very much worse at all rpms.
Had spare engine which I have now installed and now very significant gray smoking at all speeds, with all 8 cyls functioning with good compression all around.
