1996 C-280 Heater Blower Motor
Dear Friends:
Thanks for all the help in the past. A quick, or perhaps not so, question. My heater blower motor on my 1996 C-280 makes a faint sound when it is cold and first starts up. I guess brushes, or bearing. The question is: How easy, or difficult, is it to get this motor out. What might the proceedure be? I had an Audi A-6 and had to cut the blower motor out of the housing to get at it. Otherwise the dash had to come out. Thanking you in advance, Chuck |

This is a very simple job, 5 minutes tops. The blower motor on the 202 is under the dash on the pass side. Take off small plastic panel and you should be able to see it.
Make sure to examine everything carefully before taking blower apart. My friend had a problem with his a few years ago that I solved by installing some shims. I don't recall exactly what was rubbing on what. Anyway, he never had a problem with it again. Vin |

Hi...
I have a 95 C280 and there's no air coming out of the vents. The climatic control seems to be working - there are lights showing and when I change modes, I can hear the flaps inside the vents moving. So, I think it's probably the blower motor that's causing this problem. I've check all fuses for the climatic control, including the blower motor fuse (#9). They all seem to be alright. My question is, are there any other things that I should check before replacing the blower motor? Let me know. Thanks. |

Check input/output voltage on blower regulator. To test blower you can apply direct voltage to it.

Or you can try checking the voltage directly from the climate control unit. Press and hold REST for about 5 seconds... then press "^" or air towards windshield... I think at menu 8, it will tell you the blower voltage. Just in case, when was your car produced, year and month? Some of the menus changed at 10/94 for a MY 1995 C280.
