300E transmission Cooler Lines
My 1993 300E is leaking transmission fluid from the transmission cooler lines located in the front of the engine. It appears that I have two lines of the same size. Could someone explain to me how to replace the lines? Could I do it myself? My car just had transmission service 3 moinths ago (filter change). Will the transmission fluid be lost when I replace the lines?
How do I check the level of the transmission fluid? Do you check the fluid when the car is on or off? 1993 300E 2.8L with 149K. Thank you John Last edited by mammomat; 12-19-2001 at 03:43 PM. |

You will loose about 1/2 a quart. You just use a wrench to back the lines (17mm) and crack them loose (19mm).
