Can anyone tell me if the 97 c280 has a ovp relay? and if so where is it located?

I doubt it. Don't think any Mercedes still used an OVP after about '94.

They have a module, the exact name for it escapes me at the moment, but it's over on the passengers side by the firewall (similar location to where the OVP was on most MBs), you will see a few fuses on top of it.
