Hello.
Just did a coolang change on my 2002 C230 K. First time I did it myself. Followed the advice from some previous posts. Question: My manual says the coolant should be 6 liters (3 water and 3 coolant at a 50:50) mix. I measured 2 liters water going in and 2 liters of coolant. Ran the car till fully warm..the fan startd...drove it for 5 min. Temp is steady...resevoir tank is full. Is everything OK... I will go for a longer drive tonight when the traffic lets up and will bring water and coolant with me. Anyone have some helpfull advice. Thank you in advance. Ciao |

Did you drain the radiator AND engine block?
I have a M111.960 and to my memory it took 8.5 liters

I ran water through the resevoir tank and had the engine running to pump fresh water thru. I stopped the engine and waited for it all to flush out. I drove the car last night and no problems...the level remained perfect. I ran the heat on max for 10 min and drove it hard. No variation in temperature and no warning on the dash for 'LOW COOLANT LEVEL" so everything must be ok I think?
Thank you |

Yeah the way you describe it sounds fine.
Did you put the right amount of mix into it? It should be premixed, 50:50 with the blue Mercedes coolant
