W126 Speedometer Salvage
Found a pretty solid '87 560SEL in the U-Pull yard today. Do you think I can get the speedometer/instrument cluster out without power to move the steering wheel out?
I sure hate to see a solid body with no serious dents and no rust, sitting up on 4 old rims, waiting on the crusher;. I guess that's the way it is... I was making $25000 a year when it cost, what? More than twice that new. |

You should be able to, yes. Actually not a clear memory of the 126 even having telescopic. If it has that, you might want the steering column also.

Ya, my 91 has telescopic steering tied in with seat memory. I am about to read up myself on how to take a cluster out to fix my gas gauge.
