300E won't shift out of Park
I Recently changed the lock cylinder,cover, housing, and switch on a 1993 300E, the car starts and runs, but it won't shift out of park.

there is a small connection at the cabin end of lock cylinder that looks like a small button this is the cable end that connects to the trans to enable coming out of park.

don't quite follow
I apologize, but I still don't quite understand the problem or solution. I have the cable that comes from the gear shift screwed back into the ignition lock cylinder housing, but when I unscrew it and look inside the hole, I don't see anything that could possibly push or engage the cable to allow it to "shift" the car out of park.
