Hello...

I have an '05 SL500 and both turn signal lenses (the ones in the side view mirrors) have slight cracks, which is allowing water to get in. I got replacements and am trying to install them.

I found a couple different instructions online (even a video) and was able to replace the passenger side without any problems. But the driver side is giving me trouble in the very first step...removing the mirror.

Most instructions I found refer to reaching back behind the mirror with a screw driver and releasing a clip...they even show a picture of how to do it, but for the life of me I can't see enough details in the photo for it to be of help and I can't pivot my mirror enough to get a finger behind it or see much. I've tried to simply pop it off like the passenger side, but it just doesn't seem to want to give and I'm afraid to pull any harder in fear of breaking something.

The passenger side seems to be different with this first step...the actual mirrors have a different backing/surround. The drivers side is much thicker and actually surrounds the mirror like a picture frame and the passenger side doesn't have that. Point is, I think the first step may be different between the two sides.
