car pulling to the right

Why would it pull to the right. I couldnt afford to bring it to the stealership so sears had to do. After they adjusted it, which the values were all acceptable. It is still pulling to the right. The other edge of the tire is wearing and I dont know what to do

Try swapping the left & right front tires, see if the pull follows the tire. You can also rotate front to rear to see what happens. Tires often cause pull.

That sounds like a good idea. I'll do that when it starts to cool off later in the day.

I'll move the front tires and see how it goes.

They do look cracked. The tie rods are new and the lower ball joint looks to be in good shape

If I have to replace them it would probably be a great time to buy H&R springs and install them since the springs have to come out. But I don't have that kind of money..

Technically the springs do not have to come out. Just support the lower control arm.

that doesn't really sound that safe.

I'm going to call sears up and ask for my money back since they didnt really do anything according to the angle values. Then try goodyear since they are the same price. If not its off to the mechanic to have him poke around and tell me what to fix.

Have them check the toe and caster.

And get a second opinion on the alignment.

Quite a few shops have machines that are in need of a calibration.

^Correct. These are the two that affect pulling to one side. If caster is smaller on the right side it will pull to the right. Both sides should be even (and not compensate for the "crown" or curvature of the road).

Set the caster, then the toe, then camber. Have them redo it first, if they cannot fix their mistake then take it to somebody else.

Look up alignment specs for a W124 cabriolet on the archives, and use that as a baseline reference so you know if they're doing it right or not.

I can tell you the angles they did were nowhere in the middle of the tolerences. The crap was just a smidge away from out of bounds. I want all the values in the middle like they should be!

Then ask them to redo it as part of the warranty you paid for. I hate when incompetent idiots like these perform this way.

I had to go back to the alignment thrice for them to do it right on my W123. But they did get it right because they had to honor the warranty. I went in first thing in the morning as they instructed so I got first dibs on the alignment rack.

On the W123 it's caster first, because that affects toe and camber. Then toe, and finally camber. Check if the W124 is the same. Never tried it with the W124 or W201 (similar steering/suspension setup) so I'm not 100% sure on the order of adjustment.

If you have weird wear on your tires, I'd swap them front to back on each side. If the pull changes then you have your answer. If the tire is really strangely worn it should probably be changed anyway.

I was driving a friend's old blazer (with like 230,000 miles) and it was pulling bad (like to cramp your arm) and would shimmy like crazy at anything over 55. There was a weird bulge that ran all the way around the tire (near the whitewall) and I suggested he replace it because it looked perilous. Two new tires on the front and wow, the pull and the shimmy were gone. Really strange, I'd never seen that before and the pull I figured might be tires, but the shimmy, no way.

So swap the tires. It won't take you that long and then you'll have an answer.

But Sears still sucks.

I swapped left to right, right to left for the fronts. I didn't move the backs to the front.. yet.
