300E driveshaft length?

I will be converting my 1988 300E auto to a 5-speed and have everything I need except the driveshaft so I will have one made. Does anyone know exactly how much shorter the manual trans is than the auto? I can measure the manual trans easy enough as it is on the garage floor but getting an accurate measurement on the auto while its in the car is really difficult.
I guess I should ask if anyone out there has an auto sitting their garage floor they could measure bell housing to flex disc mounting flange?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Assuming you're not going to get the shaft built tonight, I've got a shaft out of an 86 300E with a 5 speed manual in my stash, if you can wait until tomorrow or Sunday I can measure that forward section and let you know what it is! What tranny are you using 717.411? 717.431?

That would be great. The #s on my trans are
717 435. It came out of 190E 2.6, I think it was a 1990.
Thanks!

5-speed driveshaft length?

Anyone out there have a 300E auto trans sitting in the garage they could measure bell housing to flex disc mounting flange? Or, the length of the manual driveshaft front section. (300E)
Thanks,

Thanks,
The length of the front driveshaft section is 32 3/4 " from the outside/forward face of the trilobe to the end of the shaft where the split female splined section ends.
