Thank you...I can see that 0w-40 is available in most auto stores. I just noticed that the dealership was using 5w-40 and I was having some trouble finding a store that sold that.

I'm sure what the dealer is using is approved. If you can find 0w40 I'd feel fine about using that.

If for some reason you want to run 5W40, you could also check the approved lubricants list from MB and select another brand that meets MB spec 229.5. In the US you will not find very many other spec oils, though. |
